Early Tuesday Morning

Hi Everybody. It's been a while since I blogged, and I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd drop in and say hi.
We had a pretty rough weekend. Levi wasn't on his best behavior at church Sunday (I'll leave out the horrifying details). It's so easy to become discouraged, even when you know you're doing what's right. Thankfully, no matter what, I have God and Paul on my side. I guess instead of focusing on the negative I should read my own post on "Thanksgiving" and be thankful for those in my life that are on my side.

Proud Cousin!

Addi was so excited because she finally got to hold Hannah today!

PROUD Aunt!!!

Hi Everybody! Hannah is finally here!!!! She made her arrival a little after 10 p.m. tonight, August 23rd. She weight 8 pounds 4 ounces and she is beautiful!!!! She has a headful of black hair!!!
Here is a picture of the proud mommy and daddy with little Hannah. We left so Katie could feed her and we'll go back tomorrow and get to hold her! We are all so excited that she is healthy and everything went so smoothly!!!

Soccer Mom

Well, I guess I'm officially a "soccer mom" now! Addi had practice tonight at 6. She did GREAT!!! No, as you can see from the video above, she's not the best soccer player in the world. In fact, she's not very good at all. I was just proud that she stayed with her team for the whole hour and didn't ask to come off the field or "go potty." As you can see in the picture below, she did take a few "breaks" with her new found friend! I'm sure her skills will improve with time. I'm just proud of how well she did for her first day! And most importantly, she had a BLAST!!!

My Lucky Day!

Paul, Addi, Levi, and I went to Free Friday Flicks tonight in Homewood Park. Before the movie, which was Ice Age 2 tonight, they draw for prizes. I won 4 tickets to Six Flags over Georgia!! Woo hoo! Addi has been wanting to go since the youth from church went and she didn't get to go. So she is excited that we will be able to go now! Tickets are almost 50 bucks a piece now if you buy them at the gate! Levi won't have to have a ticket so cousin Jasmine will probably get to go on a "field trip" day!

In other news, baby Hannah still hasn't made her arrival. Although her due date isn't until Thursday, we are all ready to meet her!!! Katie's last day of work was today and I know she's glad....maybe she will get a little rest before Hannah comes.

Have a great weekend!!!

Thanksgiving

Yes, I know it's not November. I was just sitting here (almost midnight and Addi is still up because she took a nap at 8 p.m.) thinking about how lucky I am. I want to thank my loyal blog readers for all their support. I am so blessed to have the most understanding, helpful, hardworking husband that I know. I have two beautiful, healthy children. I am blessed to be able to spend my time taking care of them and not leaving them with strangers all day.
I have parents that have always been there for me, no matter what. They have been the best examples, although I haven't always followed the great example that they set- they love me anyway. I also have a wonderful mother-in-law and father-in-law who treat me like one of their own. Who could ask for more?
I have Rachel, a friend found later in my FHU days, but a best friend that will last a lifetime. Always just a phone call, e-mail, or text message away.
I have two wonderful brothers who are now joined by two wonderful sister-in-laws. I have two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a niece and a nephew on Paul's side that although we don't see them much, they're always just an e-mail away and also an encouragement to me. (As an added note, we found out today that we are getting a new nephew- congratulations "Oklahoma Katie"!)
I also have Jasmine and Alex (who I feel like are just as close as brother and sister), not to mention Billy and Mary and everything they mean to us.
Last but not least I am still lucky to have two of my grandparents. I guess that's part of what got me to thinking about all of this. Because of the evil disease of Alzheimer's and our constant reminder of it, it just helps me to remember that you should always tell people how much they mean to you while you still have a chance. Life is short so don't let those that mean so much to you go without knowing how you feel about them.
Although I can't name everyone, I guess what I'm saying is that I feel very blessed to be surrounded by people who love me for me and you just shouldn't wait for special occasions to tell people how much they mean to you. SO- even if your name isn't here, if you're reading this, you are probably one of those special people in my life and I love you.

Better now!

Well, the Kelsey household is back to well baby status! Yea! Levi did end up getting sick, but didn't have the blisters in his mouth and throat like Addi. Now we are all getting excited about the upcoming (any day now) arrival of cousin Hannah!
I'm going to try to upload a video I took while we were stuck at home last week!

Still sick

Well, Addi is still quite sick. She has coxsackie virus with herpangina (I think I got that right). In layman's terms she has a bunch of blisters in her mouth and throat. She is not sleeping well and hollered a lot throughout the night last night. I hope she gets better soon. We are also hoping that baby Hannah doesn't decide to come until we all get better so we can all go see her at the hospital! I'm sure Katie is hoping otherwise, but I guess we'll just see how it goes. I remember that when cousin Jasmine was born Josh and Daniel had the chicken pox and didn't get to see her in the hospital.
On a funnier note, Addi got into one of her philosophical discussions about heaven before we went to bed last night. Addi said, "When we get to heaven will we take our milk with us?" I explained that in heaven we would have everything we need. She said, "God probably has LOTS of milk then." After thinking a minute or so she said, "And he probably has a microwave!" (Most of you know that at age 3, Addi decided she likes her milk warmed up- in the microwave- before she drinks it!)
Well, remember us in your prayers that Addi will get better soon and Levi will be spared this horrible virus.

This time it was aisle 7............

One of the greatest joys of motherhood has to be the dreaded stomach virus. Just kidding of course. Addi has been battling some kind of bug the past couple of days. Temperature got up to 104.1 at one point yesterday. But back to the title of this post. Addi and I went to Target yesterday afternoon and that's when this lovely virus hit....when she vomited on aisle 7. Embarrassed once again, I found an employee and told them what had happened. Meanwhile, Addi was crying and hollering, "Please don't let anybody step in it!" She has been quite pitiful. I guess I say, "Bless your heart" a lot when she is sick because at one point last night she said, "Mommy, will you please bless my heart."
She seems to be feeling some better today although she was quite upset about missing church. When I explained to her that she couldn't go because she might get someone else sick, she said, "But why can't I get everyone else sick? They will miss me."
Hopefully she will continue to feel better. We have soccer "tryouts" (they just see the kids to pick teams) on Tuesday evening. I'll try to take some pictures to post later.
